Threats within your organisation

Would you like to keep your business IT systems safe from hackers? Of course you do! But what about threats from within?

We see many occasions where smaller businesses will appoint someone as their internal IT person which subsequently gives them access to things such as financial details, email accounts and password access. For larger enterprises with IT staff there is still the issue of disseminating privileged information.

An interesting article by Graham Cluley on Tripwire highlights this issue, reporting on a story where one employee shut down most of a companies’ infrastructure with a few mouse clicks. How can you prevent this from happening in your business?

Outsourcing your IT and communications is a great way of reducing this threat. If you do have internal IT staff, privileged information should be available from a secure system with access offered on a need-to-know / expertise basis.

At claireLOGIC we take this very seriously – it’s important that we care for our client’s privileged information. That data – such as usernames, passwords etc. should not be available to everyone. That’s why we’ve invested in robust backend systems that only give our engineer teams the information they require.

If you’ve got any concerns about your security or systems then get in touch – we’d be pleased to talk to you.
