Where’s my email gone? part 1

Protect

PART 1 of 2

So, emails. You’ve probably sent a handful today already, from your phone or computer, and will undoubtedly send plenty more throughout the day. In business we use them as a way of staying in touch with multiple stakeholders, running projects and keeping on top of our work.

If you’ve ever had an outage of any kind, or your email has gone down, you know the feeling of mild panic. “Did they get my last email?” and, “What haven’t I received that I don’t know I haven’t received?!”

As much as we hate to admit it, to be that beholden to technology, we really do rely on it to conduct our day-to-day. Imagine now, that you open an innocent-looking email, and that turns out to be the mother of all Trojan Horses, it can take down your IT system in one fell swoop. You would not be popular!

Make it robust

Having robust email protection in place is an absolute must, and anti-spam filters add an additional layer of security, providing you with the peace of mind you need to allow your day to go uninterrupted. And the beauty of it is that it really doesn’t have to be complex, or expensive. We’re not even saying you have to use us – we just really want you to have it!

Whether your data is stored on-site (less often nowadays) or in the cloud, it still needs backing up and protecting. Using email security will not only provide anti-spam, anti-malware, and anti-phishing preventions, but it also acts as a backup for your email.

Not to mention archiving for compliance purposes. GDPR is a hot topic right now, and looking after your data and that of your clients is even more important than ever. You probably had measures in place already, however with new legislation and more and more auditing being conducted, you need to be even more vigilant.

So check what level of email protection you have in place at the moment, and if it’s dated, or doesn’t quite do everything you need it to, get in touch. We’ll take a view on it and suggest some options for you – whatever you decide next is totally up to you.
